Cinnamon Applesauce Jello

Tuesday, July 19, 2011

I first had this at my sister-in-law's many years ago. I'm always looking for new things to add to Jello and especially ways to help it be slightly nutritious. It's just jello and applesauce and an extra kick of cinnamon. Simple and different.Click here for printable recipe.

The Ingredients:

1 package cherry jello (8 servings) or 2 pkgs 4 serving size
1 24 oz jar of applesauce (smooth or chunky. Or even cinnamon flavor)
2 cinnamon sticks

The Directions:

Boil water with cinnamon sticks. Add jello and continue to heat with cinnamon sticks until the jello is completely dissolved. Remove cinnamon sticks.Pour in apple sauce and stir until it's evenly mixed.Add to pan and refrigerate until jello is set. Cut into squares and serve.I've always liked the cinnamon/cherry flavor combination. Perhaps next time I'll make an orange/cinnamon/clove combination.

Will this work with the sugar free jello?

Sounds good.

Yes. I have used sugar free jello many times. Enjoy!
